Music with Ms. Davis
5th-8th Grade
Middle Schoolers get to come to my music class for an entire quarter. During that time, we review the elements of music learned in previous grades while delving deeper into music theory. Middle Schoolers also work on a Musical Theatre number as their final project in my class. Middle school will also have occassional homework, as well as a dedicated music notebook that should be brought to class with them everyday along with their agenda.

Since my background is in theatre performance, we spend time in class each week learning improv games, doing movement exercises, and encouraging self expression. I ask the students to try to new things and take risks, which is imperative in music performance. We consider the music room a "safe space" where we can make mistakes and try new things without fear of judgement from others.
